Q. Should I apply for residency at Wellsboro Bible Church?
A. We are accepting applications from men over the age of 20 who have some ministry experience (paid or volunteer). A qualified applicant must be a member in good standing at an evangelical church, provide evidence of spiritual maturity and a call to pastoral ministry, and be able to pass a state and federal criminal background check. A detailed list of requirements can be found in the informational packet.
Q. What about housing?
A. We will do our best to provide housing for free or cheap. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
Q. What if I'm married?
A. Anyone who meets the above criteria is invited to apply. We welcome those with children to apply, but recognize that will impact housing options.
Q. What about transportation?
A. You are responsible for getting here. Once you are here, the church will provide a means of transportation. You may bring your own car, but you will be responsible for fuel and maintenance.
Q. Is this a paid position?
A. No. However, a stipend will be provided to offset the cost of living. Residents will need to raise funds for any living expenses not covered by the stipend. We understand that this will make residency difficult for some. However, we are simply not in a position to offer full compensation during your time here. Nevertheless, we believe that this program is valuable and encourage you to cheerfully raise support and regularly report back to your supporters. The value of residency far outweighs the cost of raising support.
Q. Should I expect to be employed by Wellsboro Bible Church following my residency?
A. Perhaps. It is our desire to transition from residency to placement in one a church plant.
